The Most Wonderful Time of the Year That Happened a Week Ago

I had a most fantastic Christmas and New Years with hardly any pictures, but a basket of laundry to prove it. Most of the holidays were spent living out of a suitcase in Boise, Provo, and Bear Lake.

My first photo with the new camera:

For nine months of terrorizing her womb, we thank Mummsie by rubbing her feet:

Went through the Twin Falls temple (JC and Sara left before the picture):

And went through the SLC temple as well:

Latin Dancing at the Church History Museum. Not sure how those two relate, but please note the little punk in the background. He was kind enough to inform us of his photobomb afterwards:

She lights up my life:

Some events to celebrate the last days of 2012:

Reading books.
Snowmobiling and snowboarding.
Sleeping in.
Going through the temple.
Party with the family.
Party with my friend's family.
Les Mis.
The Hobbit.
Eating food.
Awkward church dances.
Sitting in the car.

Party Day is Every Day

The past month I suffered from a symptom in which I get nauseous every time I look at my camera.
Never fear because I did manage to take a few pics of some fabulous parties I had with this girl:

The trekkie is Danielle and my old roommate.
She is leaving for her mission to Peru in about a month!!!
This was from her surprise birthday/Halloween party.

Our other roomie Dianne.
LOVE these girls!

What's a party without a Jello eating contest?

The second featured party was:
Latin Night!

Tacos
and
Jarritos

And Latin Dancing.

Last semester I went Latin Dancing which consists of 1 hour of instruction and then they turn the lights down low and let us loose. The first song, this Asian guy in white pants and a white suit jacket grabs my hand and goes out onto the dance floor. Let me tell you, I was twirling all over the place like a rag doll. It was crazy!
And guess who was there again:

That and our own dance party in the corner of the room made for a fantastico latin dance jam.

We finished the night with Zorro and sopapilla.

Me, myself, and I made this Mexican dessert consisting of cream cheese, roll dough, sugar, and butter.
Yum.

Side note: Me and Danielle also enjoy Zumba and lots of movies together.

Opa!

What do you do when you slack on getting football tickets?
Go to a Greek Festival of course!
It's only logical...

Rachel and I decided to give this Greek Festival in SLC a try.

We ate Greek food...

...we watched Greek dancing...

...met Greek people...

...and went into a Greek church.

Weekend Out in the Town

Girls weekend in St. George.
Took a day off of my job I just barely started, skipped some classes, drove a ridiculous amount of hours,
and was is worth it?
YES. IT. WAS.

Dinner was served at Guns and Barrels.
(For the meat and potato in you)
I was personally impressed by the collection of stuffed (as in taxidermy stuffed) animals they had on display.
After filling our stomachs to the brim we headed up the red cliffs to my favorite theater, Tuachan.
The main feature:
Let me tell you, AMAZING!!
Acting, singing, dancing, costume, makeup, sound effects, lighting, props, everything was top notch.

And look at what I found in the archives:
Oh the memories.

Perfect treat for the show:

Other weekend gems:
*Seeing all of my little nephews and niece
(They really need to come up with a collective name)
*3 skirts and a pair of sunglasses for under $30
*Food. And lots of it.
*Being with my favorite people.

Letter to Jane

Dear Jane Austen,
First of all, kudos for successfully writing in a male dominant world. You're simply inspiring. Also I think I was suppose to be your sister or something. You might have even been inspired to write something about me. That is all.
Love,
Janeen

This is what happens when Aaron and Janeen want to go to the Jane Austen Yule Ball:

I think we are silly. Actually, there is no think, we are silly.

Activities included dancing Jane Austen style (which was a little messy for those folks who didn't go to any of the workshops and didn't know what they were doing), card games, and drawing silhouettes of one another. Capital, capital!

I Kind of Like Jane Austen...

...so when they announced the Jane Austen Yule Ball I was kind of estatic. I went to a workshop where my partner and I controlled the dance floor. We learned two dances and discussed proper Regency wear for the ball. (The Mummsie might have to help me pull something together during Thanksgiving break). Here's a clip of Hole in the Wall. More to come!
