This last week I got jumped crawled into the Avalon for an adventure with Captain Yeff and the Mummsie.
In the Northern reaches of the great state of Idaho, we found the Hiawatha Trail.
This 13 mile (downhill!) route took us through tressels and tunnels alike including this 1.77 mile tunnel:
With our rented bikes and helmets we took on the trail one historical sign at a time. (Dad was insistent upon reading every one of them.)
Beautiful scenery and family friendly.
I would highly recommend it.
Taking off on four wheels rather than two, we drove our way through the other great state of Washington.
Future hubby: I would really, really love to live in this state. Just throwing that out there.
Spending the night by Anacortes, we traveled by ferry out to the San Juan islands.
Touring the quaint town of Friday Harbor we finally set out to do what the whole trip was based around.
But that's for another post.
However I'll share this picture of a stellar sea lion.
That is one big guy.
Overall, a very successful trip.
My dad was pleasantly surprised on how much he enjoyed this trip.
Thats what setting low expectations will do for you.
