ESA- Cathedrals

Kylemore Abbey's Cathedral: Ireland

This cathedral was small enough to only have one stained glass window. The saints in the windows were all female which is unique.

York Minster: England

Gorgeous except for the statue below.
Look at his bulging eyes.

But cathedrals do have some pretty cool details such as this ceiling.

And headless tambourine figures.

St. George Cathedral: England

Westminster Abbey: England

St. Paul's Cathedral: England
"Feed the Birds"

Speaking of feeding the birds, there were birds everywhere!!! Those nasty little pigeons were way too comfortable around people. If I weren't in public places I would have cried like a little boy.

St. Patrick's Cathedral

I attended evensong in this cathedral. It was stand, sit, repeat.

Same with some castles and museums, cathedrals did not allow pictures inside the building which I was more than okay with. First of all, I was pictured out. Second of all, I've been to a lot of cathedrals in my travels and they start to seem the same after a while. Third of all, a lot of the experience is wasted when you are messing around with a camera.

I also attended a couple of organ concerts. One was in Glasgow, Scotland and the second was in Westminster Abbey.

  1. Rick is gonna by SO JEALOUS when I show him this post. His 2nd favorite movie of all time is "Mary Poppins" (Wizard of Oz is first). And the organ is his favorite musical instrument. He loves organ music! We are envious of your adventures. Glad you got to go. And thanks for sharing via posts.
