School started today and let me tell you, it was a great day.
It started with a breakfast of cold cereal and strawberries.
I had a really hard time deciding on a first day of school outfit with the weather in Rexburg so unpredictable (dress in layers!) so this is the final result:
Don't you love my typical first day of school picture with the backpack by the front door? But you can't even see my backpack because my long luxurious hair is covering the straps. Anywho.
My first class was Fashion Merchandising. If its not obvious, I LOVE clothes, fashions, exploring styles, thrifting, bargaining, you know, all that good stuff. I'd rather style outfits than design them so this class sounded perfecto to me. And it is. I love it already. Turns out I have a friend from Malta (Jerica Hurst) in that class. And then someone complimented my outfit. Yes, a class full of people to appreciate my crazy to Idaho style!
The next class was Personal Health and Wellness. I'm still debating on whether or not to take some classes and this is one of them. I'm still undecided (like the rest of my life). One thing is the grading/class itself. Its a total of 200 points: 3 50pt exams an 50 points for basically exercising 2 hours per week. The exercise won't be bad at all. Heck I love that kind of stuff. So I know that this class emphasizes on appreciating fitness, which I already do. Another thing was that I disagree with the teacher on a few points, which I never do! (Not out loud of course.) Firstly he considered yoga's level of exercise to horseback riding. Have you seen Rodney Yee? My mom would have a few words with the professor. And then he was telling a kid that doing weights 3 times a week and running once a week wouldn't be a good fitness program, but if you ran everyday you would be good. What? Maybe that's why you can't run anymore and you're suffering from old age because you didn't rest properly or cross train. But then again, that's just me. He's the one with the doctorate.
I only had two classes today so the rest will come tomorrow!
This semester I volunteered to be an usher for devotional. Yes I get a badge, no I do not get a radio. Today was the first devotional so I got to smile at lots of people and say "Hi, welcome to devotional!" You could say that I'm pro. I've decided that I would a be an excellent flight attendant if it wasn't for the fact that I get motion sickness pretty darn easy.
In other news, I went to the public library and got some good reads, had some Kookaburra licorice bites, ate some Filipino food, met the bishopbric who knew where Malta was, strength training at the Hart (I love that place), and got to know to my roomies better.
It was a great first day.
My view of the temple if I walk up a certain way.
So I kind of accidently took my dad's bishop keys up to Rexburg. My parents were glad for the excuse to visit anyways. And that would be the BYU I Center. Creative name by the way.
And yes, I found bread with a killer whale on it.
Total bliss.
