Shabbat Shalom

I'm kind of in love with Christmas. The family, food, presents (lets be honest, everyone loves a good present), decorations, music, and the Christmas Nativity Story. Each year, I have grown to love the Christmas story even more. Why I love the Nativity:

*It's a tradition: On Christmas Eve, the family gathers in their Sunday best and feasts on ham, rolls, and Christmas dinner goodness. Afterwards we reenact the Nativity scene. The only difference between our family's performances and others, is the sanity. As soon as those costumes are donned, we kind of go crazy. I think it got worst as I got older. Does that say something? But nonetheless, Mummsie rolls her eyes and the show continues.

*It's my favorite decoration: I love to look at all the different nativity sets. I spent hours as a child playing with the porcelain figurines and talking in my high, breathy voice. We even have a video to prove it. My favorite set now is my very own olive wood Nativity set from Jerusalem. Which brings me to my next reason.

*I've kind of been there: Christmas has a new light/image to it after going to Bethlehem. See the first photo. I'll talk more about that this week.

This was a photo from Raft River High School's annual Christmas Charity Gala last year. I'm a regular at the program usually singing, acting, and flashing my brilliant smile to the audience. See photo above. And then I realized that this is the first year I haven't performed in some Christmas program since before Rising Stars Days. I think I was roughly four years old when I started. Mummsie was just asking for a diva to be born.
A Christmas-filled week ahead!!
